Frequently asked questions

What's in the box?

The dinosaur, the set of picture cards and the sticker sheets.

How does it work?

Your child touches the dinosaur to a picture on a card and it reads the word out loud, then uses it in a sentence. Nothing to set up and no buttons to learn.

What ages is it for?

The maker lists three bands: 2-3, 4-6 and 7-9 years.

How does it charge?

Over USB-C at 5V. A full charge takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

You hand over the tablet because you need twenty minutes

And it works. It always works. That's the part that gets you — it's the one thing that reliably holds them, so it's the thing you reach for, again, at the exact moment you have nothing left to give.

And they come off it with nothing to show for it

Twenty minutes of swiping, then the meltdown when it goes away. Meanwhile the toys that don't light up get three minutes at best. So every afternoon you're picking between something that holds them and something that's good for them.

This holds them, and they come out of it saying words

They touch the dinosaur to a picture on a card and it says the word out loud, then uses it in a sentence. That's the whole game, and it's enough. They keep going on their own, sounding things out, with nothing to swipe and nothing to take away.
